How to Process the Automatic RTS’s in SF Lightning
Login to SF and go to report link:
https://uniti.lightning.force.com/lightning/r/Report/00O3x000009Ju8vEAC/view?queryScope=userFolders
-RTS: Ready to splice
-CPE: Unique record identifier that is used internally
-OSP: Outside Plant, also fiber that runs along the “right of way” aka: Backbone
-ISP: Inside Plant, also fiber that runs from the right of way to a inside the “location” aka: Lateral
On the report you will always look at the OSP Stage column or the ISP Stage column to determine what CPE is ready for processing. You will only process items that have RTS or Splicing Complete in the column. Not all CPE’s will have both OSP and ISP portions in the RTS and Splicing Complete stage at the same time, that is okay you will only process the stage that is ready currently.

Click on the CPE Location Name to go to the CPE page

This is what the CPE Page looks like:

You will notice under the Details, mid way down the page is the ISP Stage: RTS

This means that this CPE is Ready to Splice, and that a Site Acquisition Coordinator or Splicing Coordinator should have uploaded an ISP RTS kmz file to this CPE page.
To find the kmz scroll to top of CPE page and look for the “Related” tab. Then click it. This will take you to the part of the CPE where you will find all supporting documentation to validate this record.

Once you click the Related tab, you will scroll to the section that says “Notes & Attachments”. This will house all the attachment files for this CPE. Look for the kmz that says “ISP RTS kmz”. Click on the kmz and open in google earth to view.

Going back to the “Details” tab in the CPE Page, you will need to scroll down the page to the section called “Detailed Location Attributes”. In this section you will find the Lat/Long coordinates for this location. You will need to copy these coordinates into the NetDesigner Network Map. Example shown below.

Once in your version of the network map, you should go into an “edit session”. You will also want your fiber layer attribute table open. This is the part of the RTS process where things can get tricky. You will have a few different scenarios, and you will need to learn how to navigate them. The first is the easiest to understand. In a perfect scenario, you would type in you coordinates for the CPE location, and once you were navigated to that location, you would already see a PROPOSED fiber. Then very simply you would update the attributes of the fiber, and save you edits, post and reconcile your map after each edit. This transaction will vary depending on if the CAD routes were pre-loaded to the network map as proposed fiber or not. If it was not you would essentially create the feature through a similar process, you will also check to see if there is a Site that will need to be added. If there is no site, you will create that feature too. Below you will find how to update the attributes to a proposed fiber. You will also make sure that the fiber location exactly correlates to the kmz you populated in Google Earth.
Proposed Fiber Selected:

Select this botton: Attribute Editor

This next screen will populate, and you will need to update all the fields underlined in red with the information from the CPE page.

The fields highlighted in the CPE page are the fields you use to update attributes. (Please note, there are separate rules that are located elsewhere that go over DPT updating, however, sometimes DPT updating info is located in the Notes section of the CPE page shown in second screen shot. DPT updating will be explained in another lesson.)

Once the attributes have been updated click “ok”, click the “save” button on the editor tool bar. Then reconcile your edits and post.

Reconcile button

Make sure once you click reconcile, you also click “by attribute” and “in favor” as shown below. Then click ok.

Post button

Once you post your edits to the network map, you will need to go back to the CPE page, Details tab, scroll to the section “ISP Stage Tracking” (please note that there is the same section for OSP) and you will click on the box for “ISP One Call”, picture below.

You will click save at the bottom of the screen and then you will go back to the report and refresh the report to clear the CPE from the report.
